Howard Macey is quoted in saying, “The spiritual life cannot be made suburban. It is always frontier, and we who live in it must accept and even rejoice that it remains untamed”.
It’s no coincidence that John Eldredge quotes this in Chapter One of Wild At Heart. It’s key to the journey we are on. And for some guys last night, a new frontier opened up for them as they began their journey in finding out who they really are in Jesus.
Proverbs 20 v 5 says that “the heart of a man is like deep water…” How true. For many of us, we’re only just beginning to realise the true heart of God. And once we catch that, then we see who we really are because we were created in His image.
Last night, 22 men gathered in search of their heart. Their true heart. The knock-on effect of this is huge! Men who know who they really are, and know the Father whom they follow. What a difference that would make in our marriages. Relationships. In our churches. In our sexuality.
A word of encouragement for those who made it last night. Well done. Invite the Father to speak to you over the next few weeks. Ask Him to show you the battle you need to fight (that may look very different for each of us!). Follow as He invites and leads you into an adventure. And finally, don’t forget the beauty who needs rescuing. Offer her your strength.
