I was having a think about what the next blog post would be and then today’s Daily Reading from the Ransomed Heart team appeared in my inbox. And it was too good not to share! This is a tiny excerpt from Stasi Eldredge’s book Becoming Myself.
Most of us are probably still laboring under the impression that freedom comes first in our circumstances, and then we can experience love, joy, peace, patience, and all the other wonderful fruits of the Spirit. Not so. God usually begins first with the transformation of our attitudes; then he can change our circumstances.
Did you know that you have been set free from sin? Did you know that you now have a good heart? It’s true. It happened through the coming of Jesus Christ for you:

Our old way of life was nailed to the Cross with Christ, a decisive end to that sin-miserable life—no longer at sin’s every beck and call! … From now on, think of it this way: Sin speaks a dead language that means nothing to you; God speaks your mother tongue, and you hang on every word.
